Job Title: Paediatric General Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric General Surgeon to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and expanding Paediatric General Surgery service across Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will join our current team of 9 Upper GI consultants with varying specialist interests, including Bariatric, Upper GI, Pancreatobiliary, and Paediatric surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients with Paediatric General Surgery needs
  • Work collaboratively with our current Paediatric General Surgeon, Mr Roy Gurprashad, to expand the service
  • Participate in relevant local and national audits
  • Contribute to the development of clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide teaching and training to all grades of trainees and medical students
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration and entry onto the GMC Specialist Register via CCT or CESR
  • Excellent all-round experience of DGH work and evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Paediatric General Surgery
  • Able to offer expert clinical opinions on a range of problems, both emergency and elective within Paediatric General Surgery
  • Experience in Laparoscopic Paediatric Surgery and diagnostics and therapeutic Upper GI Endoscopy with JAG accreditation
