Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Ingredion UK Limited. As a key member of our site operations team, you will be responsible for executing maintenance activities across the site, identifying parts to be ordered, and carrying out breakdown, corrective, and preventative works on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical support for the site, including routine PPMs and plant walkarounds to identify proactive maintenance opportunities.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance as directed by production personnel, ensuring a permanent standard of workmanship.
  • Support production personnel to ensure efficient site operations, delivering a high level of workmanship and a zero-defect standard.
  • Identify critical maintenance spares and consumables required for jobs or future potential problems/risks, reducing MTTR and increasing MTBF.
  • Contribute to the development of a world-class maintenance organization, improving OEE, addressing quality issues, and enhancing maintenance workmanship standards.
  • Manage SAP data inputting, including work orders, resources, time estimates, and material booking, to ensure effective completion of maintenance work orders.
  • Utilize SAP to identify part locations within maintenance stores and provide feedback on maintenance plans to improve risk mitigation and enable value-adding tasks.
  • Write, undertake, or authorize permits and dynamic risk assessments as required for employees and contractors' activities, maintaining a strong safety culture on site.
  • Support small-scale projects on site to drive CI initiatives and make positive changes to the site.
Requirements
  • Time-served engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience (NVQ 3, ONC, etc).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an engineering role.
  • Experience using a CMMS system, preferably SAP.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills to support engagement between all functions.
  • Proficient with computers to enable data inputting and understanding manuals and schematics - Electrical/Mechanical.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and instrumentation.
  • Some fabrication and welding skills.
  • HNC qualified.
  • IOSH qualified.
  • Experience completing small-scale projects.
  • Understanding of safe working procedures, i.e., ATEX DSEAR.
  • Experience working within a FMCG environment or food manufacturing plant.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and working practices.
  • Autonomous, self-motivated, and proactive in developing a maintenance strategy/operation.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and have a voice when required.
  • Team player, able to integrate into a small team and develop relationships with external partners.
  • Flexible approach as required.
  • Ability to read and follow procedural instructions.
  • Resilient and relishes a challenge.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks.
