Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant SEN school in central Leeds. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs to achieve their full potential.

About the Role
  • Provide tailored support to meet the unique learning requirements of students with SEN.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Assist in maintaining classroom order and fostering a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
  • Establish effective communication with parents, teachers, and external professionals.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the academic and social progress of students with SEN.
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with SEN in achieving their academic and personal goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide individualised support to students with SEN, including one-to-one tuition and small group work.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.
Requirements
  • Experience working or volunteering with SEND children (preferably with autism/ADHD experience).
