Advanced Practitioner Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practitioner Ultrasound to join our team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and reporting ultrasound examinations to a high standard, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and report ultrasound examinations independently, adhering to departmental protocols and maintaining accountability for professional actions.
- Act as an autonomous practitioner, carrying out a full range of ultrasound examinations across all patient pathways, producing high-quality reports and ensuring compliance with imaging protocols.
- Produce and interpret high-quality images of the body to diagnose and confirm normality and abnormality, injuries, and diseases.
- Discuss findings with patients where appropriate and provide expert clinical and professional advice to the multidisciplinary team.
- Be responsible for the operational supervision and management of allocated areas, assessing and managing workflow to utilize available resources and deliver a prompt, efficient, and effective service.
- Evaluate resultant images for quality, instigating remedial actions as necessary and alerting clinicians to any abnormalities.
- Participate in the departmental Quality Assurance programme to ensure the efficient operation of highly technical equipment and compliance with best practice.
- Support booking/reception staff in responding to queries generated by patients or staff regarding requests for ultrasound examinations.
- Facilitate communication between the department and all service users, patients, relatives, staff, and external users, adhering to Trust policies and participating in annual appraisal/review systems.
- Assist in the implementation of manual and electronic information systems, ensuring consistently accurate data collection and recording in support of standard data collection, performance activity, audit, and Capacity and demand analysis.
- Attend specialist MDM meetings and audit meetings, contributing to peer review and specialist service redesign/modernisation planning.
