Job Title: Class Two HGV Driver

Insight Employment Ltd is seeking an experienced Class Two HGV Driver to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent. As a Class Two HGV Driver, you will be responsible for delivering frozen fish and catering food to customers across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all vehicles used are in a roadworthy condition and report any faults to the depot management.
  • Plan and schedule order deliveries according to company procedure and guidelines.
  • Verify stock and block fish before leaving the premises and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner, adhering to current legislation and driving laws.
  • Communicate effectively with the distribution team, customers, and Head Office personnel to ensure smooth delivery operations.
  • Report any accidents or incidents to the depot management and complete relevant paperwork.
  • Complete daily paperwork to facilitate deliveries and returns, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure the onboard vehicle safe is fitted and secured correctly prior to leaving the depot.
  • Be responsible for any loss or shortfall of cash or cheques due to negligence.
  • Refuel vehicles and maintain a clean and tidy environment at the end of each shift.
  • Wear company-issued safety clothing (PPE) at all times while performing duties.
  • Be fit to drive and free from the effects of alcohol or drugs.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of HGV Class Two experience.
  • Valid CPC card/Tacho licence.
  • Maximum 6 points on driving licence (no CD, DD, DR, IN endorsements).
  • Reliable and physically fit, with ability to lift and carry boxes of fish up to 30kg each.
  • Ability to work Bank Holidays, including Easter.
Benefits:
  • 48 hours guaranteed.
  • 27 days holiday (3 days to be kept for Christmas Day/Boxing Day & New Years Day).
Shift/Hours:

Monday to Friday, occasional Saturdays pending on depot operational need.

Rates:

£14.50 - £15.00 per hour depending on experience.
