Role Overview:
The Academy team is integral to the comprehensive delivery and facilitation of all engineering training programs within Services & Solutions. As a Senior Gas Trainer, you will be tasked with providing both technical and behavioral training for Field Engineers and Apprentices. You will also oversee daily management responsibilities for your designated team and site, ensuring that safety and cultural standards align with both the Academy and Centrica's expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the educational delivery of engineering programs, ensuring that employees demonstrate competence across all job facets and comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Design and implement engaging learning solutions with a primary focus on customer satisfaction, positively influencing their experience with British Gas and Centrica.
- Plan and execute both Academy and Field-Based training schedules, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
- Manage the delivery of comprehensive training schemes and programs, ensuring timely completion of documentation and review processes.
- Prepare thoroughly for training sessions in accordance with quality standards and service level agreements.
- Ensure compliance with awarding-body and Centrica quality frameworks across all training programs.
- Collaborate with operational stakeholders and Academy teams to guarantee timely and budget-compliant program delivery.
- Promote and exemplify safety performance while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain training locations to ensure they are safe and conducive to effective learning.
- Manage operational and regulatory risks appropriately.
- Model effective delivery, facilitation, and assessment methods, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Analyze learning evaluations and implement feedback for continuous improvement in delivery and learner engagement.
- Work alongside the Academy Site Manager to ensure a safe and functional Academy environment.
- Oversee daily health, safety, and environmental performance on-site.
- Guide team performance regarding the quality and timely progression of learning journeys for technical engineers and apprentices.
- Provide leadership for the Academy site team, focusing on culture, professional standards, and development.
- Must possess Core ACS plus DAH1 CKR1 HTR1 CPA1 or alternatively hold a level 3 qualification as an Electrician.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering technical and behavioral training programs within a large customer-focused organization.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage health, safety, and environmental aspects within a learning environment.
- Strong technical competence and understanding of relevant operational procedures.
- Familiarity with National Vocational Qualifications, Scottish Vocational Qualifications, and various funding and apprenticeship frameworks.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO procedures.
- Experience managing group learning experiences and smaller interventions effectively.
- Strong foundational knowledge of learning delivery methodologies.
- Able to conduct performance and development discussions with team members.
- Experience in overseeing the progression of multiple groups of technical engineers and apprentices.
- Ability to cultivate effective working relationships that yield positive results.
