Job Summary

The Engineering and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering and maintenance at the Energy Recovery Facility. This includes ensuring optimal long-term availability of the plant, preserving the value of the assets, and complying with environmental health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Safety and Work Management
  • Develop and implement a robust and efficient asset management system.
Team Management
  • Manage direct reports' contractual hours of work on a monthly and annual basis.
Engineering and Maintenance Function
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance.
Budget Management
  • Manage the OPEX and lifecycle CAPEX associated with maintaining the plant.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with the Operations manager to deliver robust engineering and maintenance solutions.
Change Management
  • Manage the management of change procedure in relation to all plant modifications and changes.
Statutory Inspections
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and up to date.
Computerised Maintenance Management System
  • Ensure the plant's CMMS is utilised to its full potential.
Plant Modifications
  • Oversee plant modifications in line with the Engineering and Maintenance Change Management procedure.
Safety and Environmental Compliance
  • Ensure all activities within the ERF plant are carried out in a safe manner in line with Viridor policies and health, safety, and environmental statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and Experience
    • Knowledge of maintenance and upkeep of pressure systems, steam turbines, electrical systems, and the associated machinery and equipment.
    • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Systems.
    • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems upkeep and maintenance (Valmet, Siemens, etc.).
    • Effective team building, encouraging, motivation, and people value.
    • Knowledge of LV & HV electrical systems.
    • Experience in working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
    • Experience in leading teams and contractors to deliver agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Qualifications
    • Possess appropriate Engineering and Maintenance qualifications at Degree / HND level (or equivalent).
    • Appropriate skills and experience of CDM outage projects within the power industry.
    • Full, clean driving licence.
