Position Overview
We are seeking a Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our esteemed team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality ophthalmic care and managing clinical responsibilities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert clinical opinions on a variety of ophthalmology cases, both emergency and elective.
- Oversee the clinical care of patients, ensuring comprehensive management and communication with clinical staff.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the subspecialty service.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate medical professionals.
- Engage in clinical governance and medical audit processes to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- FRCOphth or equivalent qualification.
- Full GMC Registration and inclusion on the Specialist Registrar in Ophthalmology.
- Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical ophthalmology with a focus on high standards of care.
- Experience in high-volume cataract surgery is desirable.
- Proven ability to manage and lead clinical teams effectively.
