We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Education Director to join our team at Widener University. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the fieldwork component of our Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and providing guidance and support to fieldwork educators and students.
Key Responsibilities- Fieldwork Education Management: Administer and oversee the fieldwork component of the OTD Program, including outreach to prospective sites, and formulating and overseeing contractual agreements.
- Fieldwork Data Collection and Reporting: Collect, compile and report pertinent fieldwork data and information required for program evaluation, accreditation, and curriculum decisions.
- Student Support and Guidance: Interface with fieldwork educators supervising occupational therapy students regarding learning objectives and student performance in order to support quality educational experiences for students.
- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Participate in curriculum development, demonstrate competency in knowledge and skills in teaching both in class and online, and supervise students on special projects.
- Education: Graduated with a degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university and earned a doctoral degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in occupational therapy including supervision of Level I and Level II fieldwork students (5 or more years preferred).
- Teaching/Academic Experience: Two years' experience preferred.
