Salary: £100 - £230 per day

Are you dedicated to enhancing the educational experiences of students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? GSL Education is looking for a committed Specialist Teacher to work across primary and secondary educational settings in Chelmsford. This position is ideal for an educator who strives to deliver exceptional educational support, empowering students to reach their maximum potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a tailored curriculum that aligns with the educational standards for students with PMLD.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning stages, ensuring accessibility for all students.
  • Provide individualized or small group assistance to students, cultivating an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Step in to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) when their regular instructor is unavailable.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and support personnel to foster a comprehensive and nurturing educational environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods to accommodate individual learning needs.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and external organizations to promote the holistic development of each student.

Qualifications:

  • QTS or relevant qualifications such as PGCE, ECT, or NQT are essential.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Specialist Teacher is crucial.
  • In-depth understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with PMLD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Proven ability to create and sustain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
