Key Responsibilities:
  • Fit various types of distribution and power transformers
  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Maintain high workmanship standards and product quality, ensuring products are produced and delivered on time to customer requirements
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the works order
  • Perform area housekeeping activities, including reporting problems, shortages, or equipment breakdown
  • Use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the fitting role
  • Quality inspect colleague's output
Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment is essential
  • Ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings
  • Mechanical or electrical qualification desirable
  • Ideal candidate will be apprentice-trained
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with other operations personnel
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in a continuous improvement environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
