Job Title: Administration / Complaints Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Administration / Complaints Manager to join our team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

About the Role:

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring an efficient provision of Support Services within the county-wide Women & Children's Division. This includes providing day-to-day management to all Secretarial, Administrative and Clerical Services working in conjunction with a part-time Assistant Administration Manager. The post holder controls and manages the associated pay and non-pay budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage defined areas of responsibility on a day-to-day basis ensuring delivery of a high-quality service to Clients, Consultants, Clinicians, Senior management and other key stakeholders.
  2. Identify areas in which the service may be improved and initiate such improvements once agreed with the management team.
  3. Develop and review policies and guidelines relating to work practices, security, and areas within remit.
  4. Ensure there is appropriate cost-effective staffing cover at all times to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided.
  5. Manage and participate in the staff recruitment and selection process.
  6. Provide and analyze information in relation to workload resource utilization and performance of non-clinical staff.
  7. Responsible for the effective timely handling of complaints within area of remit.
  8. Ensure staff receive appropriate development and mentorship as appropriate.
  9. Ensure there is regular, appropriate, and continuing appraisal of staff under your supervision, and good and effective communication through Team Briefing.
  10. Identify development and training needs for staff; secure course places where necessary, and coordinate the provision of departmental contributions to the overall Unit Training Plans.
  11. Monitor waiting list performance against national and local targets.
  12. Ensure staff contribute appropriately to the 18-week RTT pathway.
