About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a leading secondary school in Leeds. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage fully with their education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted support to students with learning difficulties or special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons that cater to individual student needs.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with students who require additional guidance.
  • Support students in developing their confidence, independence, and academic skills.
  • Help create a positive and nurturing learning environment for all students.
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure a calm and focused atmosphere.
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure students' progress is closely monitored.

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a secondary school setting.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff alike.
