Electrical Design Engineer

AJS Control and Automation is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to our expanding team.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects for our established client base, ensuring the successful delivery of automation solutions.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive documentation and schematics.
  • Conduct on-site surveys, risk assessments, and validation procedures to ensure project feasibility and compliance.
  • Lead the end-to-end design process for projects, encompassing site installation design and detailed engineering specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive Work Packages that outline specific requirements for:
    • Site cable management installations
    • Wiring and cable schedules
    • Control panel builds
    • Operability requirements for software engineers
  • Produce detailed technical documentation, including Device Lists, 'Simple FDS' (for smaller projects), Load Lists, I/O Lists from EPLAN, and site layout drawings.
  • Conduct Designers Risk Assessments to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage Parts Ordering Lists and ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Create Control Panel Schematics and Operating & Maintenance Manuals for seamless project handover.
  • Coordinate control panel PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) with the Project Manager to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Prepare UKCA DoI or DoC, as appropriate, along with all required TCF material.
  • Provide post-project support and technical assistance as needed.
Your Qualifications:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.

Experience in control panel design, schematic production, and familiarity with EPLAN P8 would be advantageous. A HNC/D in Electrical Engineering or relevant certifications in Functional Safety or CMSE would be beneficial.
