ACADEMICS is in search of a passionate and skilled Advanced Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to contribute to a vibrant primary school environment. The ideal candidate will significantly support educators and enhance the learning journey of students.
Role Summary:
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant aiming to advance their career or for a current HLTA seeking a fresh challenge.
Key Duties:
- Learning Support: Aid in the design, preparation, and execution of educational activities for individuals and groups. Monitor, document, and communicate students' progress.
- Instruction: Conduct lessons for entire classes during teachers' planning and assessment periods or in their absence.
- Inclusion: Assist students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in accessing the curriculum effectively.
- Classroom Oversight: Supervise and manage student behavior, fostering positive behavior strategies and ensuring a secure learning atmosphere.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with educators, support personnel, and families to achieve optimal outcomes for students.
- Professional Growth: Engage in continuous training and professional development to remain updated with educational best practices.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- HLTA certification or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience as a Teaching Assistant/HLTA in a primary educational setting.
- Strong comprehension of the national curriculum and assessment methodologies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to inspire and motivate students.
- Preferred:
- Experience with children having SEND.
- First Aid certification.
- Relevant degree or additional educational qualifications.
