About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our esteemed secondary alternative provision in High Wycombe. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering tailored educational programs for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement, learning, and social growth.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including SENCOs, psychologists, and social workers, to address individual student needs and provide comprehensive support.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure academic and personal growth.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and caregivers to support holistic development and well-being.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies and provide emotional support to students.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven UK experience working with students with SEMH needs in a secondary education setting.
- In-depth knowledge of SEMH challenges and effective teaching strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and collaborate with colleagues.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Relevant training or qualifications in SEMH, such as a postgraduate qualification or specialized courses, is advantageous.
