We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatrician to join our team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant in Community Paediatrics. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our community paediatrics services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on autism assessments in Hackney Ark Complex Communication Clinics (children under 5 years old)
- Specific responsibility for Community Paediatrics in Patch Neurodevelopmental Clinic
- Provision of a weekly multidisciplinary neurodevelopment clinic for the assessment and management of children with developmental delays and disabilities at the Hackney Ark
- Support to Health Visitors, GPs, schools and nurseries
- Attendance at Multi-agency Referral weekly meeting (MARS)
- Take an active role, together with colleagues within the Trust, in seeing children with child protection concerns
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCPCH or equivalent
- On GMC Specialist Register with full GMC registration
- CCT / CESR Paediatrics (or specialty trainee eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview date)
- Higher degree MSc, MD
- Subspecialty recognition in community paediatrics and/or neurodisability
- Management course
- Experience in working with children of school age with a disability
- Definitive Training &/or experience in Child Protection
- Up to date with Level 3 Child Protection
- Ability to work on own initiative unsupervised and make decisions
- Excellent communication skills (written & oral) and ability to develop good working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively
- Team-player with experience of multidisciplinary working & liaison across organisation boundaries
