Key Responsibilities

  • Application Lifecycle Management
    • Manage the entire lifecycle of applications, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure applications meet quality standards, performance targets, and user expectations.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead a team of developers across the regions, testers, and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Vendor Management
    • Collaborate with software vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate, select, and integrate off-the-shelf applications.
  • Project Management
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of application development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Resource Management
    • Coordinate resources, manage risks, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Policies and Standards
    • Establish and enforce policies, standards, and best practices for application development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and industry frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT).
  • Change Management
    • Implement processes and procedures for managing changes to applications, including software updates, patches, enhancements, and migrations.
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Monitor the performance and availability of applications, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide second-line support and maintenance of networks, hardware, and software as appropriate.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain inventories of equipment and assist with ordering of equipment, materials, and consumables.
  • Technical Assistance
    • Support teaching and learning by providing technical assistance to staff, particularly if any equipment malfunctions.

About You

Key Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience of testing software, reviewing code, and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Capability to take an active role in managing and helping colleagues learn new features and techniques.
  • Experience in reviewing document changes, technical designs, and updating manuals.
  • High technical understanding of IT systems and interface methods.
  • Understanding of JavaScript, PL/SQL, and relational database design.
  • Experience with Agile development frameworks.
  • Front-end development experience using JavaScript frameworks.
