Position Overview

A Lead Mechanical Engineering Manager is sought to join a prominent and innovative company specializing in industrial and off-road systems. This organization, with a rich history of nearly a century, is recognized as a leading supplier in the UK and is poised for significant growth, making it an excellent opportunity for prospective candidates.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Director and will be an integral part of a small yet expanding team. This role involves working on designs for industrial systems and associated off-road products within the heavy platforms sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical products in 3D, including the creation of detailed 2D production drawings.
  • Revise existing designs in collaboration with electrical design engineers.
  • Utilize an ERP system effectively (experience with Microsoft NAV or similar is preferred).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in 3D CAD software (ideally Autodesk Inventor or similar).
  • Possess experience in industrial, rail, off-road, or heavy platform product design.
Essential Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant field (BEng, BSc) such as Mechanical or Product Design Engineering.
  • Proven experience in an engineering and product design environment.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with electrical engineers and other departments.
