Job Title: Financial Accountant

FRS Ltd is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for preparing monthly management and annual statutory reporting for all companies within the group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly and year-end closings, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with FCA and SRA rules.
  • Manage the group VAT returns, payroll arrangements, ledger maintenance, bookkeeping, budget, and forecasting.
  • Provide monthly P&L and Balance Sheet analysis, highlighting key variances to budget and suggesting improvements.
  • Assist in developing document processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal records.
  • Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger duties, including credit control.
  • Prepare and process expense payments to staff.
  • Manage client payment approvals and ensure compliance with daily client account reconciliation.
  • Manage intercompany postings and ensure company balances agree.
  • Manage relationship with third-party payroll provider and assist in bringing payroll in-house.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Coordinate with external audit and tax teams.
  • Manage group cash balances and ensure sufficient amounts remain in each company to comply with internal policy and external covenants.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and best practice set by the Finance Director.
  • Complete financial reports on a regular basis and provide information to the CFO.
Requirements:
  • Working towards ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification or already qualified.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in management or financial accounting.
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting software and other consolidation tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confident working on own initiative.
  • Team worker.
  • Highly organized with efficient time management and ability to prioritize accordingly to ensure deadlines are met.
