Babcock International Group is seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic and Examiner to join our team at our Leuchars site. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles and equipment.

The Role

As a Vehicle Mechanic and Examiner, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks, including diagnosis, repair, inspection, and assessment of vehicles and associated mechanical or electrical equipment. You will also be required to undertake diagnostic duties on equipment and carry out road testing, ensuring that all transactions are carried out in accordance with current processes and that work completed and time taken to complete is submitted daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults on vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe and operational
  • Undertake diagnostic duties on equipment and carry out road testing to identify and resolve faults
  • Ensure all transactions are carried out in accordance with current processes and that work completed and time taken to complete is submitted daily
  • Complete equipment documentation and test certificates or reports as required

Requirements

  • HGV experience
  • Holds valid UK driving licence
  • Educated to Level 3 in Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) National Vocational
  • Qualification (NVQ/SVQ) in Motor Mechanics (Light or Heavy) or EAL Level 3 NVQ/SVQ Extended
  • Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical)

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
