Trauma Caseworker Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Trauma Caseworker to join our award-winning youth violence service at the Royal London Hospital. As a key member of our trauma team, you will work closely with clinicians and hospital staff to provide support for young people admitted to the Major Trauma Centre, from admission to discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral, and support service to young victims of violence, exploring innovative and effective ways to reduce their risk of re-victimization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process.
- Deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as needed, providing practical support, including social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, benefits work, debt advice, and liaising with utilities.
Requirements
- Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group, and/or experience of working with 'high risk,' vulnerable children, young people, and/or families.
- Substantial experience of providing support, advice, and advocacy.
- Substantial experience of supporting CYP and assessing the needs of children and young people at risk of significant harm.
- An understanding of how trauma impacts on a young person and what that can look like.
- A relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one.
- A knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
