The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safety case support to our clients across the full nuclear lifecycle, including prospective licensees, reactor designers, and vendors. This will involve participating in hazard identification studies, supporting the preparation of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, and preparing safety case documentation and reports.
We are looking for a self-starter with a professional leadership approach and a technical background in a scientific or engineering discipline. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, experience in preparing technical reports, and an ability to make good engineering judgement while acknowledging limitations of knowledge.
As a Safety Case Engineer at Jacobs, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and clients, collaborating to achieve outstanding results in a stimulating and quality-driven environment. You will also be supported to develop your skills and experience, and offered opportunities to build a successful career and lead technical teams and take responsibility for project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participating in hazard identification studies (e.g. HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SWIFTs).
- Supporting the preparation of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments (e.g. FTAs, FMEA, ETA, QRA).
- Preparing safety case documentation and reports.
- Preparing safety case strategy reports.
- Preparing technical reports.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a scientific or engineering discipline.
- Good communication skills and ability to articulate information.
- Experience in preparing technical reports.
- Self-starter with a professional leadership approach and a technical background.
- An ability to make good engineering judgement while acknowledging limitations of knowledge.
