About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at Schroders. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in advising our Solutions business on fiduciary and advisory services, as well as bespoke structures designed with or for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on fiduciary and advisory services, including drafting legal terms and templates.
  • Providing advice on bespoke structures, including fund vehicles, liability-driven insurance, and UK insurance wrappers.
  • Advising on investment management and advisory mandates, including drafting legal documentation associated with and ancillary to such agreements.
  • Providing advice on distribution legal and compliance issues, including cross-border marketing and local regulations.
  • Advising on day-to-day legal and regulatory client documentation needs of Institutional client services.
  • Advising on outsourcings taken on by Schroders for strategic clients and partnerships.
  • Providing advice on the application of Legal and Schroders Group policies and standards.
  • Advising on regulatory matters, including interpretation and implementation of new regulations and directives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience of 3-5 years PQE.
  • Excellent contract law knowledge, drafting skills, and experience in client/service provider contract negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and procedure.
  • In-depth knowledge/experience of the investment management industry.
  • Good understanding of the legal and regulatory risks and Compliance processes associated with the financial services industry and FCA regulation.
