Job Title: Deputy Director of Public Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Public Health to join our team at NHS England. As a key member of our Public Health Directorate, you will play a critical role in driving improvements in population health and reducing health inequalities across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Public Health Directorate, ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standards and meet the needs of our local communities.
  • Work closely with our Regional Director of Public Health to develop and implement strategies to improve population health and reduce health inequalities.
  • Lead and manage a team of public health professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure that our services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, ICBs, OHID, and UKHSA to ensure that our services are aligned with national priorities and policies.
  • Represent the Public Health Directorate at meetings and events, providing expert advice and guidance on public health issues.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in public health leadership and management, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality services and improving population health outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
