About the Role

Coventry Building Society is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing strategic expertise in the management of technical and business services for our specialist area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure effective management of technical and business services.
  • Be accountable for the transition and ongoing support of relevant solutions to meet business requirements and IT architectural strategy.
  • Develop and maintain technical and standards documentation to maintain a stable and consistent environment.
  • Provide high-level technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents or problems.
  • Assist and influence Architecture, Development, and Support teams to implement and support solutions into our estate.
  • Identify service improvements and efficiencies, and provide coaching, mentoring, planning, supervising, supporting, and training to team members.
Requirements
  • Experience with MS SQL SERVER RDBMS 2019 and higher, including High Availability (AOAG), or Oracle 19C RDBMS and higher, including High Availability (Dataguard), or AWS RDS for various databases.
  • Proficiency in Jira.
  • Extensive technical background in Production Infrastructure support for critical 24x7 services.
  • Proficiency in Database technologies, including Oracle (on UNIX), Microsoft SQL Server (on Windows and AWS), and familiarity with AWS RDS.
  • Strong focus on troubleshooting, planning, and mitigating risk.
  • Identify service improvements and efficiencies.
  • Managing Incidents, Requests, and Problems, with previous Service Now experience considered an advantage.
