About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Leeds. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting care leavers aged 16-25 years old with mental health needs. You will work in a supported living environment, providing trauma-informed care and nurturing support to help young people achieve positive outcomes and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people who have complex needs and present challenging behavior.
  • Support and work with young people to develop independent living skills, social/life skills, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • Reduce risk-taking behavior and promote a safe and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm and commitment to working with hard-to-reach young people who have had poor experiences.
  • Ability to build positive relationships quickly.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in high-challenge, high-support environments (desirable).
  • Ability to manage and respond to a range of behaviors using a calm, reassuring approach underpinned by support and supervision.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and risk management.
  • Self-motivated and confident with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Positive, flexible attitude towards work.
