Job Overview

Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. As a key member of our Defence Infrastructure team, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining vital Defence facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Influence the design and maintenance of key Defence facilities, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Lead and justify design changes in high-risk environments, ensuring safety and reliability.
  • Create and manage documentation supporting Nuclear Infrastructure Design.
  • Justify and lead design changes and concessions.
  • Communicate design justifications effectively to safety committees.
  • Develop and maintain schedules for Examination, Inspection, Maintenance, and Testing.
  • Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure compliance and integrity.
Requirements
  • HNC in Civil Engineering.
  • Basic health and safety training.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Training in nuclear safety case development.
  • A good track record in Civil Engineering, ideally within the UK nuclear industry.
  • Proficient in designing and assessing industrial and maritime structures.
  • Knowledgeable in relevant codes and standards.
  • Proficient in relevant design software and IT tools.
