We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Technical Consultant to join our team at ION Group. As a Principal Technical Consultant, you will play a key role in leading technical projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise and guidance to our clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Assume a lead and/or oversight role on project implementations, working closely with project managers, client leads, and project teams to ensure implementation quality and project success.
- Solution and Integration Architecture: Assume a role of Solution and Integration Architect for system-wide implementation, health checks, technical assessments, and other client engagements.
- Project Delivery Methodology: Follow project delivery methodology standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Motivated for continuous improvement of skills and product development.
- Best Practices: Contribute to the creation and authoring of best practices.
- Internal Initiatives: Lead some internal initiatives for process improvement.
- Complex Problem-Solving: Act as a go-to resource for complex ideas and questions from the field in their vertical and domain specialty.
- Sales Opportunities: Identify sales opportunities for additional consulting work while on a project.
- Multitasking and Prioritization: Able to multitask, prioritize, and take on challenging tasks.
- Professional Communication: Interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, team leads, and subject matter experts using strong presentation skills.
- Client Needs Interpretation: Interpret client business needs and offer strategic designs to implement efficiently.
- Mentorship: Serve as a mentor for consultants in one or more technical areas of the system.
- Training Material Creation: Create training material for internal use (cross-training and developing team).
- Design and Solutioning: Create designs that offer solution reusability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Client Presentations: Present the technical solution to both client executives and user-level audiences.
- Client Training: Deliver client technical training.
- Implementation Analysis: Participate in Implementation Analysis (IA) for new clients as well as upgrades; provide detailed solutioning in the Requirements Traceability Matrix and Technical Upgrade document as well as accurate estimates and assumptions to back up the estimates.
- Project Tracking: Track project team estimates to actuals as well as deliverable quality rating for the team.
- Client Account Management: Maintain full chargeability on client account(s) as assigned.
- Travel: Travel to customer site to work on projects as needed.
- Product Experience: Openlink Endur Product experience in implementation per role profile, Connex Integrations JMS and WebServices, Advanced Report Builder, Advanced Data Model, Advanced OpenJVS and SQL, User Defined Sim Results, Advanced TPM workflows, Advanced knowledge of concepts such as: Regulatory Reporting, Inventory Management, External Pricing Models, Grid Enabling. OpenComponents.Net is a plus.
- Business Knowledge: Business knowledge of 3+ commodities, Power knowledge is a plus.
- System Experience: Implemented at least V22+. Experience with systems aspect such as installation, upgrades, health checks, is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a directly related IT field.
- Experience: 15+ years' experience in Software Design and Development or deployment of enterprise software in client environments.
- Openlink Experience: Minimum 10-years' direct experience with Openlink in designing, coding, deploying, configuring, testing, and debugging reports, plugins, and interfaces in client environments.
- Consulting Experience: Minimum 7-years working in consulting capacity.
- Technical Skills: Strong experience with Openlink: C#.NET, Java, C++, Soap Webservices.
- Business Reporting Tools: Experience with business reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and Openlink's DMS.
- SQL Scripting: Strong SQL scripting skills in Oracle or MSSQL.
- RDBMS: High proficiency with RDBMS such Oracle or MS SQL Server is required.
- Interface Implementation: High proficiency with Interface implementation following industry standard integration patterns.
- Design Specifications: Expert ability to create detailed design specifications that can be easily followed by more junior resources with little guidance to build.
- Client Design Sessions: Expert ability to lead client design sessions and explain technology concepts and solutions to business users.
- Integrated Development Environments: Experience working with Integrated Development environments such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code.
- Source Control and Continuous Integration: Experience with source control and continuous integration tools (GIT, TFS, Confluence, Bamboo) and issue tracking systems (Jira, NetSuite) is required.
- System Health Checks: Ability to conduct system health checks around database tuning, grid sizing, services tuning.
- System Deployment: Ability to create system deployment steps and operate independently.
- Windows Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows Operating systems, shell commands, and security architecture.
- Performance Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with industry standard performance monitoring tools.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud technologies (Azure and AWS) and system deployments on the Cloud.
- Office Productivity Tools: Experience with office productivity tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Relational Database Concepts: Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
- Object-Oriented Skills: Strong Object-Oriented Skills.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal / consulting skills with proven experience.
