JOB TITLE: Cloud Security Engineer

SALARY: £68,202 - £75,780

LOCATION(S): Flexible within the UK

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid model with a blend of remote and office work.

The Cloud Security team is pivotal in establishing a cutting-edge technical framework that supports one of the largest financial service transformations in the UK. We are seeking a proactive individual to contribute to our Cloud Security Lab as an Engineer. This role requires hands-on involvement and collaboration with colleagues to develop and enhance foundational infrastructure capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarizing oneself with the Bank's security policies and standards relevant to cloud environments.
  • Gaining expertise in operating within cloud ecosystems and engineering teams.
  • Developing proof of concepts for new products and use cases.
  • Collaborating with various platform teams to foster an inclusive and cooperative environment aimed at achieving the bank's strategic goal of becoming a leading UK Fintech.
  • Partnering with a Lead Engineer to identify specific areas for development and skill enhancement.
  • Assisting subject matter experts in executing essential processes and tasks within a product team.
  • Working alongside a mentor to refine onboarding and skill development processes for new team members.
  • Demonstrating a self-driven and proactive approach to assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Practical experience in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with key DevOps principles, tools, and languages, including Source Control (GitHub), IDEs, CLI, Terraform, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, and PaaS.
  • A strong passion for technology and a commitment to advancing a career in Cloud Engineering and Cyber Security.
  • A readiness to tackle challenges and a willingness to learn, identifying areas where support is needed.
  • A growth-oriented mindset, capable of overcoming knowledge gaps.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers and manage stakeholder communications.
  • Understanding of the bank's cloud vision and a commitment to upskilling for effective performance in the role.
  • Proven ability to complete technical tasks, including coding, API interactions, and infrastructure management.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in financial services organizations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Relevant cloud and/or security certifications.
  • Experience working within a technical or engineering team.
