The Cloud Security team is pivotal in developing a cutting-edge technical framework that supports one of the UK's largest financial service transformations. We are seeking a proactive individual to join our Cloud Security Lab as an Engineer. This role will involve hands-on collaboration with colleagues to innovate and enhance our infrastructure capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehending security policies and standards relevant to cloud environments
- Gaining expertise in cloud operations and engineering practices
- Developing proofs of concept for new products and use cases
- Fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment with other platform teams to support the bank's strategic vision of becoming a leading UK Fintech.
- Partnering with a Lead Engineer to identify specific areas for development and skill enhancement.
- Assisting subject matter experts in executing core processes and tasks within a product team, including operational tasks and enhancements to existing capabilities.
- Collaborating with mentors to refine onboarding and skill development processes for new team members.
- Demonstrating a self-directed and proactive approach to assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications
- Practical experience in cloud environments
- Familiarity with essential DevOps concepts, tools, and languages, including Source Control (GitHub), IDEs, CLI, Terraform, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, and PaaS
- A strong passion for technology and a commitment to advancing a career in Cloud Engineering and Cyber Security
- A readiness to tackle challenges and a willingness to learn, identifying areas for support and engaging with experienced team members for skill enhancement
- A growth mindset, capable of addressing challenges and developing strategies to overcome knowledge gaps
- Ability to collaborate with fellow engineers, manage tasks, and communicate progress effectively
- Understanding of the bank's cloud vision and a commitment to the effort required to become a skilled engineer within the team
- Proven ability to complete technical tasks, including coding, API interaction, and infrastructure management, along with relevant Cloud/Security qualifications.

- Previous experience in financial services organizations
