About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities Engineer to join our team at Unilever. As a Utilities Engineer, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and engineering services to our site facilities, equipment, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance and engineering services to site facilities, equipment, and systems, including contractor control.
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with planned statutory and maintenance activities, including contractor control.
  • Implement and manage site infrastructure projects, such as utility system upgrades and energy reduction projects.
  • Oversee electrical and mechanical installation works associated with the utility infrastructure.
  • Report to the Site Services and Sustainability Manager and work closely with the Engineering department, operations, quality, H&S, Project team, and external contractors.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in facility equipment maintenance and engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in various statutory requirements, including electrical inspections, PSSR, LOLER, emergency lighting, legionella, and health and safety at work act.
  • Understanding of building management systems (Johnson controls/TREND).
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, utilizing RCA tools.
  • Engineering background essential, with a minimum of City & Guilds level 3 qualification.
  • Electrical qualification (City & Guilds Level 3/18th edition BS7671).
  • Good communication and decision-making skills.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Projects.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on impact to site.
  • Strong organizational skills, ensuring all service reports are filed appropriately and available for regular audits.
