About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. As a key member of our Safety Engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our nuclear propulsion systems.

About the Team

Our team is responsible for designing and developing the safety cases for our nuclear submarines. We work closely with our customers and stakeholders to ensure that our systems meet the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain safety cases for our nuclear propulsion systems
  • Conduct probabilistic safety assessments and risk analyses
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety risks
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and guidelines
  • Provide technical expertise and support to our customers and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline
  • Experience in nuclear safety engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of safety principles and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
