Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our risk management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business by reviewing and implementing processes, advising on risk and control issues, and fostering a culture of risk awareness and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Risk Management: Assist the first line of defence (1LOD) with identifying, reporting, and analysing operating events to prevent recurrence and ensure actions are in place.
  • Risk Monitoring: Monitor the escalation, quality, and progress of all operating events, maintaining data consistency between the Operating Event Log and Risks Register.
  • Dealing Error Resolution: Support the business in identifying and resolving dealing errors to minimise market risk and reduce costs.
  • Operational Risk Theme Investigations: Collaborate with the Operational Risk Manager on operational risk theme investigations and thematic risk reviews.
  • Risk Policy Embedding: Champion the embedding of Risk policies and frameworks and promote a culture of risk awareness within the business.
  • Management Information Reporting: Prepare regular Management Information (MI) reporting for senior management using PowerBI and develop new MI reports as needed.
  • Data Maintenance: Maintain and update operating event and deal error data logs, as well as the firm's Risk Register.
  • Action and Issue Log Management: Manage action and issue logs from operating events, Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), or risk governance meetings.
  • Annual Review Schedule Management: Organise and maintain the annual review schedule of departmental RCSAs in line with the firm's Risk Register.
  • Visual Presentation: Prepare visual presentation material for the risk governance structure or ad hoc thematic risk reviews.
  • Issue Escalation: Oversee and allocate group inbox items to ensure timely escalation of issues.
Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent standard, with at least grade 4 or C in Maths and English.
  • Prior experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • An understanding of the UK Financial Services Regulatory Environment is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail.
  • Inquisitive nature with a keen interest in investigating issues.
