The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing professional services to Clarksons Port Services (CPS) and Gibb Group in the UK and Holland. This role will cover a total of 25 locations, requiring regular travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy - Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Policy - Review and approve compliance policy arrangements for the companies, ensuring alignment with group policies and standards.
- Culture - Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization, working closely with the Company ISO Standards and Accreditation Officer to deliver training and support.
- Active Operational Monitoring - Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and advise the Managing Directors on any gaps in compliance.
- Audit - Conduct internal audits to ensure that all activities meet statutory obligations and identify areas for improvement.
- Risk Management - Advise on risk assessment and control actions to minimize risk and demonstrate a commitment to continual improvement.
- Consultation with Workforce - Facilitate regular discussions and review health and safety performance and standards with the Health and Safety Committee.
- Investigations - Oversee investigations and assist with sign-off on serious incident reports, RIDDORS, and HSE Improvement Notices.
- Reporting of Health & Safety - Provide a monthly health and safety declaration to the Group Management Board, detailing any known breaches or RIDDORS.
Requirements
- Qualifications - NEBOSH National General Certificate (NEBCert) and enrollment on the IOSH IPD/CPD Scheme.
- Experience - Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience and a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Desirable - NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, active on the IOSH CPD Scheme, and 5 years or more relevant post-NEBCert qualification experience.
