Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse patient caseload, addressing a variety of health concerns within a primary care environment, and ensuring exemplary care standards for all patients.

Key Clinical Responsibilities:

  • As per the agreed practice schedule, the practitioner will be available to perform various duties, including in-person consultations, telephonic consultations, home visits, managing repeat prescriptions, and addressing administrative queries promptly.
  • The practitioner may also conduct regular visits to patients residing in care facilities associated with the practice.
  • Evening consultations will be conducted, focusing on the management of patients with chronic health conditions.
  • Making independent, professional decisions regarding patient issues, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluating the healthcare needs of patients presenting with undiagnosed or ambiguous health issues.
  • Screening patients for potential disease risk factors and early indicators of illness.
  • Collaborating with patients to develop tailored care plans in accordance with current disease management protocols.
  • Providing health education and counseling to patients.
  • Managing patient admissions and discharges, as well as referrals to other healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Documenting clear and accurate consultation notes in line with established standards.
  • Gathering data for quality assurance and audit purposes.
  • Issuing computer-generated prescriptions, ensuring adherence to the practice's prescribing guidelines.
  • In general, the practitioner will be expected to fulfill all typical duties associated with a General Practitioner in a primary care setting.
