About the Role

The University of Central Lancashire is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Student Achievement Service as a Study Support and Skills Adviser. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students, helping them to achieve their academic goals and succeed in their studies.

As a Study Support and Skills Adviser, you will work closely with students, academic colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide high-quality study skills support and guidance. You will help students develop the skills and strategies they need to succeed in their studies, with a focus on improving student retention, completion, degree attainment, and graduate outcomes.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team. You will be responsible for delivering study skills support and guidance to students, both individually and in groups, and will work closely with the Head of Student Achievement and the wider Student Achievement Services teams.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of delivering academic guidance and support to individuals or groups, with a strong understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by different groups of students. You will need to have effective one-to-one advisory skills, with the ability to deliver well-planned and engaging sessions to groups of students. A good honours degree or equivalent experiential learning is also essential.
