Job Summary

Girling Jones Careers is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in South Wales. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality commercial services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercially responsible for helping to estimate costs, quantities, and project timelines
  • Liaising with clients to identify their needs and develop tailored solutions
  • Estimating quantities, costs, and time scales for material and labor
  • Preparing tender and contract documents to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Identifying and weighing up commercial risks to minimize potential losses
  • Assigning work to subcontractors and managing their performance
  • Valuing completed work, managing budgets, and overseeing payments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the civil engineering sector
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and industry-standard commercial practices
  • Construction-related qualification, such as a degree in construction management or a related field
