We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Art Therapist to join our team at West London NHS Trust. As an Art Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing group and individual art therapy to service users in the borough of Hounslow, working closely with mental health teams and community resources.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver art therapy programs for service users, including group and individual sessions
- Work collaboratively with mental health teams and community resources to ensure seamless service delivery
- Assess and formulate risk, and develop strategies to support service users in reducing risk
- Supervise trainees on placement and contribute to the development of the arts therapies service
- Participate in reflective practice, case formulation meetings, and team debriefs to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Post-qualification experience in individual and group clinical arts therapies
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural service and in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Ability to explain arts therapies practice to a wide range of professionals, service users, and stakeholders
- Knowledge of other modalities, such as the medical model, systemic, and behavioral approaches
- Ability to function in potentially traumatic circumstances and in highly emotionally distressing situations
As an Art Therapist at West London NHS Trust, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the development of the arts therapies service and making a positive impact on the lives of service users. You will be line-managed by the Head of Arts Therapies and supported by a structure of meetings with arts therapies colleagues and clinical supervision.
