Gap Personnel is recruiting for 8 Mill Operatives on a temporary ongoing basis for a leading pub, cider & beer company in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

The successful candidate will work within a cider production environment, maintaining a high level of food safety and hygiene procedures. Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a flexible approach to work to meet team-based work requirements.
  • Observing and maintaining safety levels with particular attention to machinery and electrical equipment.
  • Undertaking training to meet food legislation requirements.
  • Operating and maintaining machinery.
  • Checking fruit to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Cleaning and pressure washing production lines.
  • Cleaning filters and closing valves.
  • Unloading trailers as required.
  • Maintaining a strict level of personal and workplace hygiene.
  • Working as part of a team to manage time and plan work schedules.
  • Liaising and communicating with other teams.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Participate in the running of the team and the site as a whole.
  • Work as part of a team and actively participate in team decision making.
  • Show initiative and work independently without supervision.
  • Take on responsibility and complete tasks set through to the end.
  • Share and exchange information with others.
  • Demonstrate a good level of English and computer literacy.

Working hours are Monday – Friday (rotational), with shifts from 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am. The successful candidate will be entitled to an attendance bonus of £40 per full week attended.

The successful candidate will be a proactive team worker, liaising and cooperating with all members of staff. They will operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business. They will also abide by health and safety legislation in respect of themselves and others.
