About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber/Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Erlestoke, a Category C adult male prison. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out plumbing and mechanical maintenance tasks to ensure the prison's infrastructure is functioning properly.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced colleagues to maintain a safe and secure environment for prisoners, employees, and visitors.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize resource allocation.
  • Participate in health and safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety within the team.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 in a mechanical or plumbing discipline or equivalent.
  • Good health and safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and people skills.
