Position Overview:
The Catastrophe Pricing & Analytics division at Antares is seeking a highly skilled Senior Catastrophe Modeller. This position entails overseeing treaty modelling and portfolio analyses, fostering close collaboration with underwriters, and serving as the primary contact for modelling inquiries. Additionally, you will be responsible for guiding junior modellers and managing external contractors.
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in a quantitative discipline, natural sciences, or engineering (Bachelor's or Master's)
- ACII certification or equivalent qualification
- Expertise in AIR Touchstone with comprehensive knowledge of catastrophe modelling
- Proficient in SQL, capable of writing dynamic SQL queries
- Programming skills in languages such as VBA, R, or Python, with the ability to create and modify tools and processes
- Strong understanding of relevant software and methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of the general insurance landscape
- Comprehensive understanding of the workflow for various business classes underwritten by QIC Global entities
- Awareness of the CPA department's role within the broader business framework
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Timely and efficient in task execution
- Proactive in advancing departmental initiatives
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborative team player, effectively communicating ideas and solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Adept at sharing knowledge and elucidating complex modelling concepts to both internal and external stakeholders

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute routine catastrophe modelling tasks
- Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio summaries
- Conduct event response analyses
- Assist in the model enhancement process
- Provide information, analyses, or reports for regulatory or ad-hoc requests
- Contribute to projects related to modelling assumptions, internal tools, processes, and risk perspectives
- Support Assistant/Cat Modellers in their tasks
