The Aga Khan Foundation, a prominent global charitable organization, is seeking to enhance its communications division with a Visual Communications Specialist. This role is pivotal in amplifying AKF's messaging through the creation of compelling visual content that enriches the narratives we share.
This position will collaborate closely with the communications team to generate visually captivating materials for various AKF communication platforms, while also revitalizing the organization's brand identity.
The ideal candidate will possess formal education in graphic design, along with a proven track record of producing high-quality digital and print visuals, as well as content tailored for social media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality, visually appealing graphics for AKF's website and social media platforms, as well as for printed materials.
- Create infographics that effectively convey data for use in various AKF communication products.
- Assist the communications team in crafting innovative and engaging content for digital media.
- Revise AKF's brand guidelines to ensure comprehensive coverage of all design elements and provide guidance to communications colleagues on their application.
- Ensure all designs are consistent with AKF's branding standards and messaging. Refresh social media templates to enhance storytelling across platforms.
- Update AKF's PowerPoint, Word, and InDesign templates to equip staff with the necessary tools for producing high-quality, on-brand materials.
- Support Partnerships and Programme teams in creating impactful presentations and reports for institutional donor engagement.
- Organize and maintain a repository of images, logos, and related assets.
- Coordinate with external service providers for printing, publishing, or other services, ensuring the quality and precision of final outputs.
- Stay informed about the latest design trends and technologies, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge in these areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in graphic design with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in a reputable branding or design studio or marketing agency.
- High standards for the accuracy and quality of communication and marketing materials.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proficiency in graphic, video, and animation software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and the broader Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Canva and Figma.
- Experience with WordPress for uploading rich and engaging content.
- Skills in animation, motion graphics, and illustration are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Web design and development experience is a plus but not required.
- Respect for diversity and an understanding of various cultures, values, and beliefs.
- Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
