Job Summary

The Property Infrastructure Division of the Welsh Government is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the delivery of key capital and property projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary project teams and specialist consultants to deliver projects within agreed timescales and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively lead and manage project teams to deliver infrastructure and property development projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery;
  • Develop and implement best practices for project management and partnerships, critically appraising and evaluating performance to secure value for money and compliance;
  • Provide specialist construction and engineering advice to project teams and other government departments;
  • Prepare advice and briefs for ministers and the Property Leadership Team to obtain approval for projects;
  • Implement and manage procedures to comply with relevant statutory regulations, including environmental, health and safety, and sustainability duties;
  • Represent the department on various committees and working groups.

Requirements

  • A strong background in project management, construction, or a related field;
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and specialist consultants;
  • Knowledge of contract law and ability to operate credibly within the Welsh Government and with external stakeholders;
  • A full valid UK driving license, as frequent visits to properties across the region will be required.
