A&P Group, Falmouth - Management Accountant
We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at A&P Falmouth. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate financial information to support our business decision-making.
A&P Falmouth is one of the largest ship-repair facilities in the UK, offering a wide range of marine repair services. Our on-site engineering, electrical, paint, and fabrication workshops enable us to provide a complete range of services to our customers.
We are a centre of excellence for ferries, mobilisation and demobilisation works, jack-ups, pontoons, and tankers, as well as MoD defence vessels. Our busy working port handles over 100,000 tonnes of product every year, and we also welcome cruise ships that berth at our dock facilities near the centre of town.
As our Management Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing financial guidance to support business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts and year-end audited accounts, reporting on profit and loss, key performance indicators, and undertaking variance analysis.
- Monitor and analyse performance and budgets, generating and following up on financial reports to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information is accurately reflected in business decisions.
Requirements:
- AAT qualified or above, with experience in a similar role within a busy finance function.
- Expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under your own initiative to deliver what's needed, when it's needed.
- Microsoft Excel skills and experience of working with key accounting systems such as Sage would be an advantage.
