Landscape and Facility Care Assistant at Retirement Villages Group

Retirement Villages Group is looking for a dedicated Landscape and Facility Care Assistant to enhance our community's environment. This full-time role focuses on the upkeep and enhancement of the physical surroundings to promote the comfort and happiness of our residents. Key duties include routine upkeep, addressing service inquiries, and participating in initiatives that improve the living environment.

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct regular assessments of buildings, amenities, and shared spaces.
  • Ensure the proper operation of lighting, elevators, and safety systems.
  • Respond to residents' maintenance inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate maintenance timelines.
  • Maintain the outdoor areas to a high standard.
  • Immediately report any safety issues.
  • Participate in regular evaluations with the Facilities Manager.
  • Responsible for painting, decorating, and seasonal maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the integrity and functionality of the community's structures and equipment.

What We Seek:

  • Prior experience in maintenance or a related field is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Physical capability to lift and transport heavy items.
  • Openness to learning and adapting to new challenges.
