Platform Resourcing is collaborating with a leading Global Engineering and Manufacturing firm in search of a meticulous and highly organized Temporary Logistics Coordination Specialist to enhance their logistics team.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing the dispatch of products, ensuring prompt and precise delivery to clients.

This temporary position is essential for upholding the exceptional standards of customer service during a busy period.

Logistics Coordination Specialist Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate of £12.99 - Paid weekly
  • Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme
  • 20 days of annual leave (plus 8 Bank Holidays)
  • Monday to Thursday: 7.15 am to 4.30 pm & Friday: 7.15 am to 1.00 pm
  • Complimentary Parking
  • Full-time position with potential for permanent employment

Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Coordination Specialist:
  • Plan and coordinate dispatches to guarantee timely product delivery.
  • Liaise with drivers and warehouse personnel to streamline the dispatch process.
  • Track and monitor deliveries to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Prepare and manage dispatch documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, and shipping labels.
  • Maintain precise records of dispatches and deliveries.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding deliveries and provide timely updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, warehouse) to facilitate smooth dispatch operations.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or challenges related to dispatch and delivery.
  • Develop contingency plans for delays or complications in the dispatch process.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all dispatch activities.
  • Uphold health and safety regulations, ensuring a secure working environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a logistics or dispatch role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dispatch software and systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with MRP or SAP systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Dependable and punctual with a robust work ethic.
  • Customer-oriented with a positive demeanor.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing work demands.
