Brief Description

Our Eastern Routes Capital Programmes team is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to provide client-side engineering leadership to projects from early development to delivery and handback within the Eastern Region. The Buildings and Minor enhancements team is made up of dedicated professionals delivering a portfolio of projects throughout CP7.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to provide technical expertise and leadership to projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agreeing technical outputs with sponsors and stakeholders,
  • Technical discipline leadership,
  • Monitoring competence of contractors design, construction and specialist personnel,
  • Identify and share best practice across the various project teams,
  • Carry out the duties of designated project engineer (DPE) for specific projects,
  • Applying engineering controls and procedures to all projects,
  • Implementing EngineeringUK systems and procedures monitoring all projects for compliance with Railway Group and EngineeringUK Company standards.

Essential Criteria:

  • Engineering experience relating to Buildings, Stations, Civils and Structures within the railway environment.
  • A desire to help internal and external clients to specify affordable outputs which can be delivered within their timescales.
  • Successful relevant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects.
  • Project safety management experience.
