Job Title: HV Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced HV Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team at GPW Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for commissioning complex HV systems in a live open busbar environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing equipment on site to ensure it meets the required standards
  • Liaising with clients and installation/project engineers to ensure smooth project execution
  • Supervising engineering and technical staff to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively
  • Gathering and analysing performance and safety data to identify areas for improvement
  • Writing reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Providing technical support to maintenance and operative staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or relevant knowledge and experience in a similar role
  • Extensive experience of commissioning complex HV systems in a live open busbar environment
  • Good knowledge of secondary and primary injection methods, CT's and VT's testing, functional checks, hard wire or fibre optic intertrips, DNP3 and 10pair hard wired communication, SCADA check to the Customer Control Room, on load checks and tests
  • Very good knowledge of computer hardware and software, including Microsoft office package, Micom S1/Studio/Agile
  • Very good manual skills, wiring and fitting skills, electrical and mechanical faults finding
  • Commercial awareness

Package:

  • Salary up to £90,000 pa basic salary, plus car allowance and mileage
  • Hotel allowance for overnight stays
  • Food allowance
  • 26 days annual leave
  • Pension – 4%
  • Bonus, non-contractual and based on business performance
