Catering Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at Hexham General Hospital. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety in our kitchen and dining areas.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive, check, and store food and supplies in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Prepare and serve food to patients, visitors, and staff in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate the central dish wash machine and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Assist with meal preparation, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Maintain accurate records of food temperatures, inventory, and other relevant data.
Requirements
• Basic Food Hygiene and/or Level 1 Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent).
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Ability to work flexibly and cover staff absence as needed.
